  1. Is that only me who can't wait the suspense and watched the last episode before even completing 10th episode

  2. The thing i really loved was that Halmeoni never left Jipyeong's side. For some reason i thought she was all team jipyeong nd she cared about him more than Dosan even after knowing how Dalmi chose him. I loved that atleast she looked out for him always no matter what

  3. The relationship between daughter/son with mother and grandchild with grandmother are different. We love both of them but we have the specific love for them. I can explain how but I hope you understand. I MISS MY GRANDMA. We were very very close, I miss to hug her more like jipyeong.

  4. I stopped watching this drama until ep 10 because I didnt like the cliches back then. But I decided to finish this since yesterday and everything made sense to me, the plot and such but even though the ending seemed like "playing safe", I dont think it became very sufficient to cover up some "unsettled" things such as Dalmi and Jipyeong's affair. Also, I realized that each character had their significance, so just because, for example, Jipyeong turned out to be a "bad guy" at some points of the story (what I mean is that, some episodes kinda made Jipyeong blame himself and experience breakdown) does not mean he was totally rude at all. The same goes for Do-San, Dalmi, In-jae and other characters. Everyone has a backstory. But then, I am saying all of these not because I have already fully accepted the ending; I am just acknowledging the reality. But just like you, I am a team Jipyeong and until now, I feel sorry for him because behind his attempt to look strong and serve as everyone's mentor, I know he needed some downtime too. The behind teams of this drama should have brought consolation for Jipyeong such as lovelife and a new environment. Just because the leads smiled at the end does not mean it became fully glorious at all. That's all, and yeah, I bet there are a lot of people who do not know how to appreciate the process, but instead expect for the results of our actions. For that, I commend Jipyeong for everything that he has done for Dalmi. Start-Up was a great drama, no wonder our school kept on mentioning it in our events.

Oh btw, my biases in the drama were Injae and Jipyeong!!! ♡♡♡ 강한나 and 김선호 fighting!!!!

  6. I've noticed some people complaining about why the writers had to make a solid backstory for Ji Pyeong only for him to supposedly not have a happy ending because he didn't end up with the main female lead, but when you really think about it, his story was not really about winning Dal Mi… it was about his relationship with Halmeoni. At the start of the series we get to meet Ji Pyeong as an orphaned loner who doesn't have anyone to call family, but then Halmeoni adopts him and treats him like a true grandson, though it is short-lived as Ji Pyeong leaves for Seoul to find better opportunities for himself. We then get to the 15 year time skip and we meet Ji Pyeong again, now a successful investor living in luxury, but we quickly find out that he's actually still the same orphaned loner with no one to really call family, and we also find out that he hasn't had any contact with Halmeoni ever since he left for Seoul 15 years ago. Eventually, fate brings them together again, culminating with Ji Pyeong finally fully accepting the grandmotherly love that Halmeoni has always been ready to offer to him. You see, a happy ending doesn't always have to be about winning the girl, it could actually be a lot of other things, and in Ji Pyeong's case, it's finding someone to truly call family.
